Swampfire Suppressor Showdown II - Presented by Roaming Shot Precision

Join us in Slaughter, Louisiana for the Swampfire Suppressor Showdown II, the 2026 Roaming Shot Precision NRL Hunter Games Fall Match. This match is open to shooters of all skill levels, from first-time NRL Hunter competitors to experienced shooters. This will be a fun but challenging one-day match featuring 8 stages built around our unique range layout, including our shoot house and multiple natural-style hunting scenarios. Shooters can expect animal-shaped steel targets, creative props, and practical positional shooting designed to test your ability to find, range, and engage targets under time.

MATCH FORMAT

The match will consist of 8 stages with a 4-minute time limit on every stage and a 64-round maximum. We recommend bringing 70–80 rounds to allow for zero verification and extras just in case. This is an individual competition with no team slots. Most targets will be inside 400 yards, with a few extended targets reaching approximately 800 yards. Targets will be grey unpainted animal shapes. The 16-pound rifle weight limit applies. There is no power-factor requirement for this one-day Games match. The minimum caliber for award eligibility is .25 caliber, rifles may not exceed .30 caliber, and maximum muzzle velocity is 3,175 FPS. Skills Division shooters may use 6mm or larger, with the same 3,175 FPS maximum muzzle velocity.

NEW TO NRL HUNTER?

If you've never shot a match like this before, we strongly recommend registering in the Skills Division. You'll have more fun, learn more, and get a better feel for the NRL Hunter format. In Skills, our ROs can help you identify and range targets and walk you through what is expected on the stage. Outside of Skills, the amount of assistance the RO can provide is very limited. We have a great group of experienced ROs who want new shooters to succeed, learn, and enjoy the match.

RECOMMENDED GEAR

You do not need a truckload of equipment to shoot this match! We recommend bringing your rifle and ammunition, chamber flag, eye and ear protection, a shooting bag for props, binoculars, a rangefinder or binocular/rangefinder combination, a dope lookup or ballistic-management system (armband/tape/marker etc), tripod, backpack, kneepads, and an optic that allows you to dial elevation and/or use the reticle for elevation holds. Please arrive with your rifle already zeroed and ready to compete. We will have a small zero range available the morning of the match for verification. You must start every stage with your backpack on and all your gear with you!

SUPPRESSOR REQUIREMENT

This is a suppressor-only match. Suppressors must provide a reasonable level of sound suppression. Competition-oriented systems that are not intended to provide hearing-safe suppression, such as the N3wton Competition, Blueprinted Firearms Edge, or Area 419 Maverick in the short configuration, will not be permitted. If you use a competition-style suppressor and have any doubt whether it will be acceptable, please contact us before registering. Normal suppressors with brakes are allowed.

LOANER RIFLES

We have a limited number of loaner rifles available for shooters who would like to try NRL Hunter but do not currently have suitable equipment. Please contact us before registering if you need to reserve one.

MATCH-DAY AMENITIES

We will provide bottled water, tents/shade, and a hot lunch. A portable restroom will be available on site.

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 5th Overall. We will not be awarding separate trophies by division or classification.

Due to parking limitations, this match is capped at 60 shooters! Register early if you don't want to miss out!

SCHEDULE

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 — RO SHOOT DAY

11:00 AM — ROs arrive / RO check-in begins / RO Zero Time
12:00 PM – approximately 3:00 PM — ROs shoot all stages

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 — MAIN HUNTER DAY

7:00 AM – 7:45 AM — Hunter Check-In. Rifles will be weighed during check-in. 16-pound maximum.

7:15 AM – 8:30 AM — Zero Range Open. This will be a small zero area intended primarily for verification. Please arrive with an established zero whenever possible.

8:30 AM — Hunter Safety Briefing

8:45 AM — Hunters on stages and ready to go HOT

Lunch will be provided and awards will begin immediately following completion of the match.

Approximately 1:00 PM — Match concludes
