The Paloma Challenge

Welcome to The Paloma Challenge, hosted at the breathtaking Paloma Ranch just north of Folsom, New Mexico. Set on over 38,000 acres of pine-covered mountains, oak brush, and sweeping valleys, this event delivers the ultimate test of your hunting-rifle skills in truly wild terrain.

Competitors can expect approximately 16 stages with target distances extending between 150 to 1,000 yards, requiring thoughtful gear management and efficient movement between positions. Plan for moderate walking over uneven terrain, and come prepared for a day that rewards both physical readiness and mental focus.

Please note this is NOT A POINTS RACE MATCH for the 2026 season. 

RANGE OFFICERS

To help us reward and better secure quality ROs during the 2-day event, vetted individuals will be offered a complimentary match slot for the opportunity to complete all stages in 1-day timeframe (on the RO Shoot Day), for points amongst the other hunters and for prize eligibility. The opportunity at this is set to take place on the competitor Check-in Day.

*If you’re interested in ROing this event, please submit to the following RO Application to the link above. Anyone may apply, however, space is limited and not guaranteed. Those who volunteer to RO but are not selected will have the option to purchase a slot.

Friday July 24th

1:00 PM- 5:00 PM- Weigh in and power factor. Zero range and targets out to 1000 plus yards to collect data
1:00 PM- 5:00 PM – Come check out the vendor booths

Saturday July 25th

7:00AM – Safety meeting
7:30AM – Head to stages
8:00AM – Begin shooting (8 Stages)
11:30AM – Lunch provided

Sunday July 26th

7:00AM – Start on your next stage and begin shooting at
12:00 PM Estimated time of completion
