This will be the inaugural NRL Hunter Games match at the newly built NRL range at Steel Creek Precision Rifle Range.
Steel Creek sits in the foothills of the Tobacco Root Mountains just east of Twin Bridges, MT. The NRL range runs from sagebrush hills to rocky ridges and scattered pine trees. 6-7 canyons and coolies come together at the ridge used for the firing line creating great shooting angles and challenging winds. The trail is not groomed, and stages use almost all natural features to create a realistic hunting scenario.
This is high desert so cactus are plentiful and snakes are a possibility (I never saw a snake while setting up the range). Knee pads are recommended. No jog strollers or wagons will survive! You will need a good backpack and hiking boots!
The firing line is ¾ of a mile long so round trip may be up to 1.5 miles if I use the two stages furthest apart. There is 250 feet in elevation change from the top to the bottom of the range. Over 20 stages are possible, but for this match we will only use 8. Direction of Fire is almost 360 degrees.
Squads will Self-RO so make sure you bring a phone with NRL Hunter Scoring app installed on it. You can find it at google play. I will provide a charging bank at each stage. The range has good cell service.
The course of fire will be new shooter friendly with targets in the 2-3 MOA size. Max range is 1000 yards. Most targets will be 300-600 yards.
Hunters will also receive WPR points.
Safety briefing at 8:30 AM
8 Stages.
Max round count is 64.
